SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing 5-tosylomethyl-2,2'-dimethyl-5-nitro-1,3-dioxane, which can be used as a starting material in nucleophilic substitution reactions. The method consists in interaction of 5-hydroxymethyl-2,2'-dimethyl-5-nitro-1,3-dioxane with tosyl chloride at 20-25°C in the presence of a catalyst - a tertiary amine. Water is used as the reaction medium, and an aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide is used to maintain the pH of the reaction medium at 10.

EFFECT: reduction of synthesis time, reduction of energy consumption.
