FIELD: volatile organic compounds.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in glass packaging processes. Disclosed is a method for measuring volatile organic compounds released from one or more coated glass containers, comprising loading at least 200 coated glass containers into an oven; heating the oven to the heat treatment temperature, which is more than 260°C; purging the oven with dry clean air; collection of at least a volumetric portion of the gas leaving the oven; capturing VOCs from this volumetric portion of the gas leaving the oven in a trap; measuring the trapped volatile organic compounds and normalizing the volatile organic compounds to a single container. Also disclosed is a device for implementing the specified method.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides fast and accurate measurement of VOC emissions during heat treatments.
