FIELD: wireless communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication and, in particular, to methods for reducing the energy consumption of user equipment in the presence of awakening signal. Method for measurement in user equipment (hereinafter – UE) is proposed, which contains the following steps: determination (902) of the fact that a search call message was received or that the state of radio resource control (hereinafter – RRC) UE has changed, and usage (904) of normal measurement mode (105) for a certain period of time after receiving the search call message or changing the state of the RRC UE. Method also includes determination (906), based on one or more fulfilled criteria, of the fact that it is necessary to switch to simplified measurement mode (110) after the specified time interval.
EFFECT: providing a reliable determination of the state of mobility.
