METHOD FOR ASSESSING TREATMENT OF PERIPAPILLARY GEOGRAPHIC CHOROIDITIS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61F9/00

Abstract RU 2749295 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Before and after treatment, autofluorescence is performed using scanning laser ophthalmoscopy in autofluorescence imaging mode with a wavelength of 490 nm or 790 nm to obtain an image of the fundus reflecting the distribution of lipofuscin on the fundus. In this case, conservative treatment of peripapillary geographic choroiditis and analysis of the brightness of choroiditis zones in the fundus image before and after treatment are carried out. Before and after treatment, the image of the fundus reveals a zone of hyperautofluorescence as a zone of process activity and a zone of normal autofluorescence perifocally to the pathological focus - as a zone outside the pathology. Indicators of autofluorescence brightness are determined before and after treatment of the identified zones of activity of peripapillary geographic choroiditis and zones outside the pathology. To compare the brightness of autofluorescence of the identified zone of activity of peripapillary geographic choroiditis with a perifocal zone outside the pathology before and after treatment, the colorimetric autofluorescence index is determined according to the original formula. After that, the obtained colorimetric autofluorescence indices are compared before and after treatment, and with a decrease in the colorimetric autofluorescence index after treatment, the positive result of the treatment is judged.

EFFECT: method provides a quantitative assessment of the effectiveness of the treatment, and also allows reliably evaluating the results of the treatment.
