METHOD FOR DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF CHOROID OSTEOMA AND SCLEROCHOROIDAL CALCIFICATION Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B3/00

Abstract RU 2703981 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used in differential diagnosis of choroid osteoma and sclerochoroid calcification. That is ensured by performing OCT Spectralis in HR mode (high resolution) using the ART Mean function (scanning averaging) and the EDI (deep tissue examination) mode. Autofluorescence of the fundus is examined in the shortwave range (S-AF). If the focus is localized no closer than 3.6 mm from the foveola, the presence of the chorioretinal complex elevation with the irregular bumpy surface of the Bruch's membrane, thinning of a choroid with amplification of hyperreflectivity of a signal, presence of a zone of isoautofluorescence with clearly delineated multiple areas of hypoauto- and hyperautofluorescence on edges of the center, sclerochoroidal calcification is diagnosed. If the process is localized in the central zone of the fundus, presence of an elevation zone of the choroidal complex with a "mesh" structure at the level of external layers of a choroid with a hyperreflective line separating the focus from the uninjured sharply thinned choroid, or in the presence of a moderately hyperreflective choroidal elevation zone with a "platelet" structure of a choroidal complex, osteoma of the choroid is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides accurate differential diagnosis of the above pathologies by detecting certain differential features specific to a certain type of pathology, which enables to select an adequate therapeutic approach to each of the diagnosed pathologies.
