Intraoperatively, fragments of a 1x1x1 mm hemostatic collagen sponge, previously impregnated with a drug, are placed in the oval and round windows of the labyrinth. In Meniere's disease, gentamicin is used. For otosclerosis, dexamethasone is used. The method allows for a long-term local effect of the drug on the structures of the inner ear, which makes it possible to reduce the amount and frequency of administration of the drug and leads to an increase in the effect of toxic suppression of the inner ear receptors with intratimpanal administration of gentamicin in Meniere's disease, as well as to a significant reduction in the risk of cochleovestibular disorders with intratimpanal administration of dexamethasone at the end of reconstructive surgery for otosclerosis.

EFFECT: method allows for a long-term local effect of the drug on the structures of the inner ear, which makes it possible to reduce the amount and frequency of administration of the drug.
