FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and is intended for the prevention and treatment of irritation and/or inflammation of the eye. The ophthalmic composition contains or consists of 0.10 – 0.45% by weight of hyaluronic acid and/or ophthalmologically acceptable hyaluronic acid salt, 0.60 – 5.00% by weight of ectoin or ophthalmologically acceptable ectoin derivative, as well as up to 100% by weight of water. In another embodiment, a method for preventing and treating irritation and/or inflammation of the eye is presented, including applying the specified composition to the eye from 1 to 10 times a day.
