SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a control device for recognizing the rollover of a vehicle and a driver assistance system. The method for recognizing the rollover of a vehicle equipped with a first acceleration sensor that is resistant to displacement and a second acceleration sensor, with zero point correction, includes reading the first sensor signal, the second sensor signal and the third sensor signal, setting the threshold value of the signal depending on the value of the difference between the first sensor signal and the second sensor signal, comparing the third sensor signal with the set threshold value of the signal, generating, depending on the result of the comparison, the rollover signal, displaying the presence of a rollover. The first sensor signal is the acceleration values registered by the first acceleration sensor relative to the first vehicle coordinate axis, the second sensor signal is the acceleration values registered by the second acceleration sensor relative to the first vehicle coordinate axis, and the third sensor signal is the acceleration values registered by the second acceleration sensor relative to the second vehicle coordinate axis perpendicular to the first coordinate axis.

EFFECT: improved vehicle driving safety is achieved.
