SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and device for controlling at least one driver assistance function in the case of a vehicle overturning and driver assistance system. Method for controlling at least one driver assistance function in the case of a vehicle overturning equipped with at least one acceleration sensor with zero point correction includes following stages: reading the sensor signal and correction signal or reading the sensor signal and determining the correction signal using the sensor signal, performing the first comparison of the sensor signal with the first threshold value and the second threshold value, and performing the second comparison of the correction signal with the third threshold value, detecting the presence of overturning depending on the result of the first and second comparison, and generating the overturning signal to output to at least one driver assistance function, if the presence of overturning was detected at the detecting stage. The sensor signal is acceleration values registered by at least one acceleration sensor, and the correction signal is adjustment values for correction of a zero point of at least one acceleration sensor. The first threshold value and the second threshold value are acceleration values, wherein the first threshold value corresponds to static overturning angle of the vehicle, it is a higher acceleration value than the second threshold value, and the third threshold value is adjustment value, which corresponds to the difference between the first threshold value and the second threshold value.
