FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing cylindrical arched gear wheels with circular teeth having an involute transverse profile. The method of removing the material of the space between the teeth of a cylindrical arched gear wheel includes cutting out an annular groove in the tooth space and removing the material from Zone Z1 between the concave side surface of Tooth 1 and the side surface of the annular groove closest to it, as well as removing the material from Zone Z2 between the other side surface of the annular groove and the convex side surface of adjacent Tooth 2. Material removal from both Zone Z1 and Zone Z2 is carried out by means of generating. As a result of performing each of the generating in Zone Z1, a surface is formed that is equidistant to the concave lateral surface of Tooth 1, and in Zone Z2 - a surface equidistant to the convex lateral surface of Tooth 2. Generating is performed using a cutter head. An annular groove in the tooth space is cut out by at least one annular drilling. Cutting in the hollow of the annular groove is carried out using a tool head or a crown drill.
EFFECT: unhindered exit of chippings from the cutting zone is provided and the load on the main drive of the machine and the cutting head is reduced.
