FIELD: internal combustion engines production.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of internal combustion engines, namely a cast-iron cylinder sleeve by the method of centrifugal casting. A method for producing a billet of a cast iron cylinder sleeve by the method for centrifugal casting includes sequential pouring of gray pearlitic cast iron with lamellar graphite into a mold to obtain a two-layer billet. The mentioned cast iron is poured into the mold heated to 200-250°C in the amount of 60% of the total volume of the cast iron to obtain the first layer of the workpiece. Then, without intermediate cooling, a ligature is poured into the mold in an amount of 10% of the total volume of cast iron, and without intermediate cooling, cast iron is poured in an amount of 40% of the total volume to obtain a second layer of the workpiece. Cast iron of the same grade with a carbon content of 2.8-3.1% is used to fill both layers of the workpiece. The resulting billet of a two-layer cast-iron cylinder sleeve is sent for high-temperature annealing at a temperature of 900-960°C and subsequent slow cooling.
EFFECT: increased wear resistance of the inner working surface of a two-layer cast-iron cylinder sleeve.
