FIELD: wireless communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication techniques and can be used in a wireless communication network. For this, a node (10) in a wireless communication network contains a set of antennas (13, 14), a primary radio (11) and a secondary radio (12), and said primary radio (11) and said secondary radio (12) share at least two of the set of antennas (14), the node (10) further includes a radio frequency (RF) switch (15) configured to connect the secondary radio (12) to any of at least two shared antennas (14). The primary radio (11) is configured to operate in the first frequency range, and the secondary radio (12) is configured to operate in the second frequency range, wherein said second frequency range is a subband of said first frequency range, said method comprises receiving steps (110) package; determining (120), for each of said shared antennas (14) separately, a signal quality indicator of said second frequency band corresponding to said received packet; selecting (130) one of said shared antennas (14) based on said determined signal quality indicators by controlling said RF switch (15).

EFFECT: introduction of the node (10) in the wireless communication network in the standby mode.
