SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway automation and telemechanics for regulating the movement of trains. The threshold voltage Ut, which is determined using the station computer for the track receiver of each of the short track circuits, which is a section of the rail line between the supply and the receiving track transformer, when these circuits and all branches adjacent to the connection point of the track transformer of the supply and receiving end, are free of rolling stock, and the rail lines are in good order. For the threshold voltage Ut, the averaged value of the last three measurements of current voltages Uc at the output of the track receiver under the specified conditions is taken, a short track circuit (SRC) is fixed free if Uc, at the time of measurement, and Ut correspond to the conditions 0.75⋅Ut<Uc<1.25⋅Ut, otherwise the SRC is fixed as busy or faulty.
EFFECT: ability to reduce the cable core is achieved.
