FIELD: analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, namely, to methods for determining formaldehyde in cortical closure means for winemaking products. A method for determining formaldehyde in cortical plugs used in winemaking by capillary electrophoresis involves preparing a sample by extracting cortical plugs, conducting a derivatization process, and direct identifying. A model solution similar in composition to winemaking products is used as an extraction medium, namely a 20% water-alcohol solution with the addition of a 2% solution of citric acid, in contact with the test samples for at least a day. 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine is used as a derivative. The optimal values of the wavelength of the applied high-efficiency capillary electrophoresis are 320-420 nm.
EFFECT: increased degree of formaldehyde extraction.
