FIELD: display devices.
SUBSTANCE: display device contains a display panel with multiple subpixels and an array of multiple light micro-modulators on the display panel made with a possibility of adaptive image contrast modulating in a display device. Each of multiple light micro-modulators is made with a possibility of adaptive light intensity modulating in a light emitted by a light-emitting side of the display panel in the area corresponding to each of multiple light micro-modulators based on the level of brightness of a current image displayed in the given area. The display panel has the first side remote from the array of multiple light micro-modulators and the second side opposite to the first side and close to the array of multiple light micro-modulators. Each of light micro-modulators is made with a possibility of adaptive first light power modulating in the first light emitted by the first side of the display panel in the area corresponding to each of multiple light micro-modulators based on the second light power in the second light emitted by the second side of the display panel in the area corresponding to each of multiple light micro-modulators.
EFFECT: invention provides for an increase in brightness adjustment efficiency.
