FIELD: optical devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to silicone hydrogels. A silicone hydrogel is proposed formed of a reaction mixture containing at least one N-alkylmethacrylamide and at least one silicone-containing component selected from polydimethylsiloxane with monomethacryloxypropyl and mono-n-butyl end groups, polydimethylsiloxane with mono-(2-hydroxy-3-methacryloxypropyl)-propylester and mono-n-butyl end groups, diacryloxypolidimethylsiloxane, containing 20 dimethylsiloxyl repeating links in average, and tris(trimethylsiloxy)silyl styrene. The resulting hydrogel has a modulus of elasticity of at least 6.895 MPa and a water content of at least 10%. Options of the specified silicone hydrogel, contact lenses based on it, and a method for manufacturing the corresponding contact lens are also proposed.
EFFECT: technical result is that the proposed silicone hydrogels are used in the manufacture of biomedical devices, ophthalmic lenses and contact lenses with improved characteristics, including for patients with astigmatism.
