The method may further include creating, from a memory, connectionless, using a wireless communication interface of the aerosol delivery device, a status announcement packet including identification related information, an announcement of the status of the aerosol delivery device, and a first set of characteristic record information using an aerosol delivery device; and transmitting the advertisement packet via the wireless interface.
