The method for identifying an aerosol delivery apparatus comprises the following stages: receiving, via a wireless communication interface configured to support pairwise interaction, a data packet from the aerosol delivery apparatus, containing information about a physical characteristic of the apparatus, and determining the identification data of the apparatus, based on the physical characteristic of the apparatus; changing the aspect of the user interface based on the determined identification data; receiving, via the wireless communication interface, a data packet from a second aerosol delivery apparatus, containing information about a physical characteristic of the second apparatus, and determining the identification data of the second apparatus, based on the physical characteristic of the second apparatus; changing the aspect of the user interface based on the determined identification data of the first apparatus and the second apparatus, providing the possibility for the user to choose the first or the second aerosol delivery apparatus.

EFFECT: possibility of identifying one of multiple aerosol delivery apparatuses prior to coupling with one of said apparatuses.
