FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method can be used in research of technological processes and in the oil refining, petrochemical and chemical industries. The method includes taking samples of the tested oil product and conditioned oil product of the same type. The absorption characteristic multidimensional equidistant spectrum is measured in the samples, the measurement results are processed, the results of processing the spectra of samples of both conditioned and tested oil product samples are jointly entered into the multidimensional statistical space, the preferential scattering ΔS of the results of introducing the spectra of each of the samples, as well as the Mahalanobis distance S between the centers of gravity of the entered sets of spectral points, after which the conditionality of the tested oil product is determined by comparing the value of the Mahalanobis distance and the predominant scattering of the entered spectra in the multidimensional statistical space. The tested oil product is conditioned if (S/ΔS)≤m, where m is a constant coefficient, the value of which for oil products is assumed to be 3.
EFFECT: increases the reliability, accuracy of measurements and simplification of the entire measuring cycle.
