FIELD: grinding.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for synthesising a fire-retardant oxide-ceramic material from CaZrO3, in particular, in the form of a fire-retardant, mechanically broken, in particular, crushed and/or ground granular composition, as well as a charge and a coarse-ceramic moulded or unmoulded fire-retardant product. In order to synthesise a granular material from calcium zirconate, a mixture of dust-like calcium-containing raw materials and dust-like ZrO2 at a molar ratio of CaO/ZrO2 from 1.5:1 to 1:1.6 with water is obtained, the mixture is pressed producing a workpiece, sintered, and then mechanically broken. Each of the components of raw materials has a purity of at least 96 wt.%. The product comprises at least 98 wt.% calcium zirconate. The charge for producing a refractory product comprises a synthesised granular material – calcium zirconate – and dust-like components: a source of CaO and monoclinic ZrO2, as well as a binder. The products are used for fire-retardant lining in coal gasification plants, in gas turbines, in crucibles for melting non-ferrous metals.

EFFECT: production of phase-pure calcium zirconate.
