FIELD: medicine; facial surgery.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to facial surgery; it can be used in prosthetics of the cheekbone-orbital complex using an implant made by the method of layer-by-layer selective laser melting. The implant for prosthetics of the cheekbone-orbital complex is made in the form of a curved plate having the shape of an irregular quadrilateral with frontal and temporal processes, a convex outer surface and an inner concave surface, between which a porous structure is made. The plate is equipped with a strip forming the orbital surface. The implant is made of titanium and solid titanium along the perimeter. The porous structure is made three-dimensional with cells representing a tetrahedron, dodecahedron or octahedron, formed by a set of supporting ribs and struts. In this case, at the ends of the frontal and temporal processes, as well as in the upper jaw, the plate is additionally equipped with means of attachment to the facial bones. The strip forming the orbital surface is made in the form of an additional process; it is equipped with many through holes.
EFFECT: use of the implant provides an individual combination with the prosthetic facial area and the required mechanical characteristics: the ultimate strength of the solid titanium area is not less than 450 MPa in tension, the elasticity of the beam structure is 10-30 GPa with a tensile strength of not less than 7 MPa in compression.
