FIELD: printing devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of printing devices, namely to a technological cartridge. The technological cartridge contains: a rotating photosensitive drum; a rotating developing roller for developing a latent image formed on the drum, the developing roller being able to contact and be at a distance from the drum; a biasing force receiving portion for receiving a biasing force from the urging member for positioning the roller at a distance from the drum; a cartridge-side drive transmission portion capable of engaging with a main-assembly-side drive transmission member for receiving a rotational force for rotating the roller; a separating member capable of urging the main assembly side driving transmission member to disengage the cartridge side driving transmission member from the main assembly side driving transmission member by a biasing force receiving portion receiving a biasing force from the main assembly side biasing member.

EFFECT: invention provides an improved design for shifting the drive transmission to the developing roller by allowing the developing roller drive to be switched between the cartridge and the main assembly of the image forming apparatus.
