FIELD: aerodynamic sources noise reduction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of noise reduction of aerodynamic sources and can be used in duct networks of ventilation and air conditioning systems. The muffler contains a housing with inlet and outlet openings formed by an outer casing and installed in the latter coaxially with the formation of a gap filled with sound-absorbing material and a perforated rectangular insert, and sound-absorbing elements, including a pair of perforated sheets with sound-absorbing material located between them, installed in series, and diagonally relative to the cross-section of the insert, wherein adjacent elements are placed along mutually intersecting diagonals, while the elements are made in the form of sequentially installed elastic elliptical cylinders (1) with open bases, elongated along the diagonals relative to the cross-section of the insert (2), and forming the outer and inner walls of the cylinders (1), perforated sheets, made in the form of elliptical leaf springs (3), and the sound-absorbing material (4), located between the springs (3), has elastic properties, while the cylinders (1) are installed with the possibility of elastically deformable contact with the insert (2), like spacer spring rings, and adjacent cylinders (1) are placed mutually intersecting diagonals.
EFFECT: muffler is created that has a higher operational reliability in a vertical arrangement and a higher efficiency in noise reduction.
