FIELD: information-measuring systems.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to the field of information-measuring systems and can be used in computer vision devices intended for solving problems of measuring range and orientation in space. This method allows using a digital video camera to measure the range of three located in the horizontal plane and equidistant from each other light sources, blinking at a given frequency. By processing individual frames of the video image, the required light sources are detected at a given frequency of brightness change. According to the triangle geometry theorems, the angles of entry of the projection rays from the light sources into the camera lens are calculated and the distance to the geometric center formed by these light sources is determined.
EFFECT: increased range and accuracy of determining the range, the ability to determine the range at a low level of natural light.
