FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of operation of the main gas pipelines, in particular to the determination of sections of gas pipelines subject to stress corrosion. The aim of the invention is to simplify the process of identifying sections of gas pipelines subject to transverse stress corrosion. The method for determining transverse stress corrosion consists in local opening of a section of a pipeline containing cold bending bends and laid over rough terrain. Local opening is carried out in those places where in the reports on in-line diagnostics (ILD) pipes with transversely oriented metal loss defects in the lower half are found, and there are also longitudinal seams located at 2-4 and / or 8-10 hours of the cross-section in hour coordinates. Local opening of the pipeline is performed to identify defects in the pits.
EFFECT: advantage of the invention is that it simplifies the process of determining transverse stress corrosion, allowing it to be isolated in a laboratory way with subsequent identification in the pits.
