SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a support base for an iron, both for professional and for domestic use, capable of temporarily holding the iron in a vertical position, it also relates to the iron suitable for connecting to the support base, and to an ironing device containing the support base. The support base for temporarily holding iron (11) in a vertical position contains holding groove (20) capable of receiving support base (11a) of specified iron (11), while specified support base (11a) is located in the rear part of specified iron (11), and has at least two locking grooves (24), stabilizing device (21) equipped with clamping/releasing mechanism (22), which can be operated by the user by means of switch (25) and is made with the possibility of placing at least two clamping elements (23) between at least the releasing position and the clamping position, in which each of specified clamping elements (23) mechanically interacts with corresponding locking grooves (24). The support base differs in that specified clamping/releasing mechanism (22) contains control element (33) that interacts with specified clamping elements (23) and that is connected to specified switch (25) by means of lever (30) made with the possibility of rotation around its own support point (X), in response to the movement of specified switch (25), in which specified lever (30) is performed during use with the possibility of moving specified control element (33) in a linear direction in order to position and hold specified clamping elements (23) in the specified clamping position or in the specified release position.

EFFECT: possibility to stably and safely hold the iron in a vertical position during each use and in accordance with the needs of the user.
