FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: hot-pressed iron includes many particles of reduced iron, which are connected one to another by means of hot forming. At that, each of the reduced iron particles has surface section with average carbon content including 0.1 to 2.5 wt % and central section located inside the surface section with higher average carbon content than on the surface section.
EFFECT: invention allows obtaining strong cheap hot-pressed iron which can be used as the raw material loaded to the blast furnace and has resistance to atmospheric action.
