SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a descaling device for chemical descaling from a metal strip. The descaling device comprises at least one first spray device and at least one additional spray device for spraying the etching agent on the top or bottom side of the metal strip. Each of the spraying devices has a first outer spray unit for spraying the etching agent onto the first edge region of the top/bottom side of the strip and a second outer spray unit for spraying the etching agent onto the second edge region of the top/bottom side opposite the first edge region. The first spray device has a middle spray unit for spraying the etching agent onto the middle region of the top/bottom side of the strip located between the edge regions. At least one of the spray units of the first spray device has a plurality of rows of all-jet nozzles. Each of the spray units of the first spray device has its own pickling agent distribution chamber. At least one of the two external spray units of the additional spray device has one or more slot nozzles. Each of the two external spray units of the optional spray device has its own distribution chamber for the pickling agent.

EFFECT: high etching efficiency is achieved.
