METHOD FOR FOCAL BRACHYTHERAPY FOR PROSTATE CANCER IN PATIENTS WHO HAVE UNDERGONE LOW-DOSE INTERSTITIAL BRACHYTHERAPY Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B1/07 A61N5/10 A61K51/00 A61P35/00

Abstract RU 2753437 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to oncourology and radiology. The diagnosis is carried out at the stage of planning the procedure, a pararectal biopsy of the prostate gland is performed. The radiation dose, the number of microcapsules for implantation and the nature of their distribution during implantation are determined, microcapsules with radionuclide I-125 are implanted with pararectal access into the prostate tumor tissue using a stereotactic attachment with holes. At the same time, the radiation dose, the number of microcapsules for implantation and the nature of their distribution during implantation are determined by the results of a preliminary targeted pararectal biopsy of the prostate performed using combined MRI and CT images during diagnosis. The data showing through which points the biopsy needles were carried out, are stored and used during focal brachytherapy for the installation of microcapsules containing radionuclide I-125 in the prostate gland, carried out under the control of CT. In particular, the holes of the stereotactic prefix are made at 2.5 mm increments.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to ensure the maximum radiation load directly in the tumor focus, taking into account its malignancy potential, which will ensure an increase in the relapse-free and overall survival of patients with localized forms of prostate cancer against the background of a decrease in the irradiation of healthy tissues, which in turn will not adversely affect the quality of life of patients.
