FIELD: coatings.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for applying paint and varnish coatings onto the internal surfaces of metal products, in particular, onto the internal surfaces of boilers of railway tanks intended for transportation of aggressive media. The method for polymerisation of the barrier protection on the inner surface of the boiler of a railway tank car, including application of several layers of a paint and varnish coating and intermediate polymerisation of each layer, including ventilation complying with temperature and time regimes, and final polymerisation also complying with temperature and time regimes, wherein three layers of the paint and varnish coating are applied, and the ventilation during intermediate polymerisation is executed according to the following pattern: the first layer - the total volume of ventilation is no more than 5 times the internal volume of the boiler per hour at a temperature of 20°C for 24 hours; the second layer - the total volume of ventilation is no more than 5 times the internal volume of the boiler per hour at a temperature of 30°C for 24 hours; the third layer - the total volume of ventilation is no more than 5 times the internal volume of the boiler per hour at a temperature of 20°C for 24 hours, and the final polymerisation is executed according to the following pattern: the total volume of ventilation of 15 to 20 times the internal volume of the boiler per hour at a temperature of 37°C for 24 hours, then at a temperature of 28°C for 24 hours, then again at a temperature of 37°C for 24 hours, then again at a temperature of 28°C for 24 hours, and as such, with a cyclically alternating temperature, polymerisation is executed for 10 days. Heaters installed on the outside under the bottom of the tank car are used in the ventilation system.
EFFECT: technical result is polymerisation of the barrier protection on the inner surface of the boiler of a railway tank car.
