FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiology and angiology, and can be used to assess the probability of developing acute myocardial infarction in patients with intermittent claudication due to obliterating atherosclerosis of the arteries of the lower extremities within a year. The activity of the coagulation factor FXI in peripheral venous blood is determined, the presence or absence of post-infarction cardiosclerosis in the anamnesis is assessed, taking into account the patient’s age. The calculation of the probability of development of acute myocardial infarction is carried out according to the formula P = 1 / (1 + e-Z), where P is the probability of acute myocardial infarction, e is the base of natural logarithm (Euler’s number), and the z is the indicator calculated as follows:
Z = -24.527 + 0.248 * X1 + 0.038 * X2 + 4.552 * X3, where
X1 is the value of age (years),
X2 is the value of the FXI activity,
X3 is a value that reflects the presence or absence of post-infarction cardiosclerosis in a patient: a binary variable of 0 (there is not post-infarction cardiosclerosis) or 1 (there is post-infarction cardiosclerosis).
EFFECT: possibility to predict acute myocardial infarction in patients with intermittent claudication due to obliterating atherosclerosis of the arteries of the lower extremities by evaluating the activity of clotting factor XI, taking into account the patient’s age and the presence of post-infarction cardiosclerosis in the anamnesis.
