FIELD: diesel engines.

SUBSTANCE: diesel oxidation catalyst is proposed for the treatment of exhaust gas from a diesel engine, where the oxidation catalyst contains the first layer containing carrier material that contains aluminum oxide doped with silicon dioxide; a component - metal of a platinum group (MPG), which consists of a combination of a palladium component (Pd) and a platinum component (Pt) applied on carrier material; a component that is alkaline earth metal applied on carrier material, wherein this component - alkaline earth element is strontium (Sr) or barium (Ba); the second layer containing a component - metal of the platinum group (MPG), selected from a group consisting of a platinum component (Pt) and a combination of a palladium component (Pd) and a platinum component (Pt); and substrate that is flowing monolith; and the first layer is placed on substrate, and the second layer is placed on the first layer, and the first layer differs in composition from the second layer; and the total amount of the component of alkaline earth metal is 10-500 g·ft-3. An exhaust system for a diesel engine is also proposed, including a diesel oxidation catalyst, which is described above. In addition, a vehicle is proposed that includes a diesel engine and an exhaust system, which is described earlier.

EFFECT: technical result is the provision of improved oxidation catalysts that show improved catalytic activity without increasing the total amount of platinum and palladium.
