FIELD: chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composite zoned oxidation catalyst for use in an exhaust system for exhaust gas purification, an engine containing the specified catalyst, the use of a composite catalyst and a method for its production. The composite catalyst (14, 16, 18, 20) is located in the exhaust system upstream relative to the filter substrate (44, 50) of solid particles, and contains: a substrate (5) having a total length L and a longitudinal axis and having a substrate surface extending axially between the first end (I) of the substrate and the second end (O) of the substrate; and three or more zones (1, 2, 3 or 1, 2, 3, 4) of the catalytic coating of porous oxide arranged in series axially on the surface of the substrate and along it, with the first zone (1) of the catalytic coating of porous oxide having a length of L1, and L1 <L, formed at one end by the first end (I) of the substrate, and at the second end by the first end (19, 21) of the second zone (2) of the catalytic coating of porous oxide with a length of L2, with L2<L, and the first zone (1) of the catalytic coating of porous oxide contains the first material: a substrate of heat-resistant metal oxide and two or more components deposited on it, representing a platinum group metal containing both platinum and palladium with a mass ratio of platinum and palladium ≥1; the second zone (2) of the catalytic coating of porous oxide contains a second material: a substrate of heat-resistant metal oxide and one or more components deposited on it, representing a platinum group metal, and the third zone (3) of the catalytic coating of porous oxide, containing a third material: a substrate of heat-resistant metal oxide and one or more components deposited on it, representing the platinum group metal is formed at its second end by the second end (O) of the substrate. The total load of platinum group metals in the first zone (1) of the porous oxide catalytic coating is greater than the total load of platinum group metals in the second zone (2) of the porous oxide catalytic coating. The total load of platinum group metals in the third zone (3) of the porous oxide catalytic coating is less than the total load of platinum group metals in the second zone (2) of the porous oxide catalytic coating. The first zone (1) of the catalytic coating of porous oxide contains one or more of the first components, which are alkaline earth metal, deposited on the first material: a substrate of heat-resistant metal oxide.

EFFECT: ensuring a stable exothermic effect at a lower temperature.
