FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and rheumatology, and can be used to predict exacerbation of chronic uveitis in men with ankylosing spondylitis. In men suffering from ankylosing spondylitis and uveitis, with the onset of ankylosing spondylitis at the age of 12 years and older and the disease duration of 16 years or more, blood sampling is performed. The level of total cholesterol is determined and a general blood test is performed. The allergization index (AI) is calculated using the formula: (lymphocytes % + 10 x (eosinophils % + 1))/(neutrophils % + monocytes % + basophylls %) and a marker of viral infections (MVI) according to the formula: (lymphocytes %)/(monocytes %). If the level of total cholesterol is above 5.5 mmol/l, IAL is 2.0 or less, MVI is 4.0 or more, an exacerbation of chronic uveitis is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides simplicity and efficiency in predicting exacerbation of chronic uveitis in men with ankylosing spondylitis by determining total cholesterol, IAL and MVI.
