FIELD: ionizing radiation measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ionizing radiation. A method for controlling the power supply circuit of a Geiger-Muller gas-discharge counter is carried out using an electronic key and a shaper at high radiation dose rates, characterized by the formation of a recording pulse of a gas-discharge Geiger-Muller counter during the appearance of an increasing discharge current inside the Geiger-Muller counter - an "electron avalanche", which is created when hit of ionizing radiation on the Geiger-Muller counter. At the initial stage of an "electronic avalanche", the former disconnects the Geiger-Muller counter from the power supply circuit using an electronic key and generates a counting pulse for further processing, while the electronic circuit returns to its original state, and the "electronic avalanche" stops at the initial stage of its development.
EFFECT: reducing the energy consumption of the Geiger-Muller gas-discharge counter, increasing its reliability by extending the service life.
