FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ionizing radiations measurement, specifically gamma-radiation using the gas-discharge counters. Essence of the invention lies in the fact that the radiation measurements reliability assessment method, performed with the Geiger-Muller gas-discharge counter radiation sensitive instrument, is in development of additional counting channel with a time delay in the instrument measuring circuit, for which series of following one after another several pulses is perceived as one pulse. If the gas-discharge counter has a multiple avalanches effect, the main channel readings exceed the additional channel readings above the certain limits. At that, conclusion is made on the counter malfunction, measurement results are considered to be unreliable, and device is sent to the repair facilities.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility to assess the readings reliability directly during measurements.
