FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology and ophthalmology, and can be used to predict the development of FUS-associated neurodegenerative disorders in transgenic mice. The activity of copper-zinc-dependent superoxide dismutase (SOD) in tears is determined. When its activity is 35% lower than in the control, the development of FUS-associated neurodegenerative disorders in transgenic mice is predicted.
EFFECT: invention provides expanding the possibilities of early diagnosis of FUS-associated diseases for the timely initiation of their treatment, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of therapy when extrapolating experimental data to clinical conditions by determining the activity of the SOD enzyme in the lacrimal fluid of transgenic mice.
