FIELD: icebreaking works.

SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for destruction of ice cover by submarine by excitation of flexural-gravity waves in ice under its motion under ice at resonant speed, note here that cylindrical vortex is formed at fore end of ship, its axis of rotation being horizontal and perpendicular to ship direction, its dimensions being larger than vessel hull diameter. Owing to the appearance of vertical hydrodynamic force arising in these conditions due to the Magnus effect, an increase in the height of the flexural-gravity waves is achieved.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing efficiency of ice cover destruction.
