FIELD: icebreaking works.
SUBSTANCE: ice cover 1 is destroyed by exciting in the ice of bending-gravity waves 3 by submarine 2 when it moves under ice at resonant speed. In ship bow 2 with the use of outboard water periodically with frequency of resonance flexural-gravity waves 3 for a period of time equal to half of their period, cylindrical vortex 4 is formed, rotation axis of which is horizontal and perpendicular to direction of vessel 2 movement, and its dimensions exceed vessel hull diameter. Owing to the appearance of vertical hydrodynamic force arising in these conditions due to the Magnus effect, an increase in the height of the flexural-gravity waves is achieved.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improvement of efficiency of ice destruction, id est increase of its destructed thickness.
