FIELD: icebreaking works.
SUBSTANCE: ice cover 1 is destroyed by exciting in the ice of bending-gravity waves 3 by submarine 2 when it moves under ice at resonant speed. In ship bow 2 with the use of outboard water cylindrical vortex 4 is formed, the axis of rotation of which is horizontal and perpendicular to direction of ship 2 movement, and its dimensions exceed vessel hull 2 diameter, wherein the direction of the longitudinal velocity components of vortex 4 is periodically alternated with a double frequency of resonant speeds of flexural-gravity waves 3 to the opposite direction for a time equal to half the period of these waves. Due to the Magnus effect occurring in these conditions, i.e. occurrence of an alternating vertical force, an increase in the height of the flexural-gravity waves is achieved.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improvement of efficiency of ice destruction, id est increase of its destructed thickness.
