FIELD: medicine; phthisiology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used for diagnosing tuberculosis (TB). Method comprises: (a) obtaining a sample from said individual, wherein said sample is selected from a group consisting of: blood, serum and plasma; (b) determining, in said sample, concentrations of the following biomarkers: IL-1ra, IL-6, IL-7, IL-8, IL-12p70, basic FGF, IP-10 and VEGF; (c) converting concentration of each biomarker determined at step (b) to a decile value; and (d) converting each decile value into binary presence or absence by comparing decile values (c) into following specific quantile threshold values:
Decile value coinciding with a specific quantile threshold value or exceeding it is converted into binary presence of biomarker, and the decile value below the specific quantile threshold value is converted to the binary absence of the biomarker, where determining presence of each of said biomarkers indicates that individual has TB. Group of inventions also relates to a device controlled by software for implementing the above method of diagnosing tuberculosis.
EFFECT: present invention enables to identify a unique, quantile-specific biosynthesis from cytokines, by means of which bacteriologically confirmed TB and other respiratory tract infections are differentiated.
