FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular to combined blowing of the melt in an oxygen converter. With combined blowing, oxygen is supplied by the upper water-cooled lance while the melt is stirred with an inert gas supplied through the bottom tuyeres or refractory blocks installed in the refractory masonry of the converter bottom, and the lances or refractory blocks installed in the side part of the refractory masonry of the lower cone of the converter below the melt level, namely in the trunnion area.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the duration of the campaign of combined blowing of the melt in the converter, carried out with the help of upper, lower and side blowing devices, which makes it possible to obtain high-quality steel, and also to prevent the coating, destruction or premature wear of the tuyeres due to the mechanical effect on them when filling steel scrap, pouring and draining the melt.
