FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the fields of molecular and cellular biotechnology and, in particular, to luciferases. The mutant copepod luciferase for application as a bioluminescent reporter in vitro and in vivo has an amino acid sequence selected from the group including SEQ ID NO:1, 2, 3, and is produced by the method of directed molecular evolution from the MLuc7 isoform of the Metridia longa luciferase, differs from the natural amino acid sequence by the presence of amino acid substitutions Y72W, I73L, G81E, G90A and D146V with numbering according to SEQ ID NO:1.

EFFECT: resulting luciferase is characterised by the increased activity, the temperature reaction optimum in the range of 31 to 38°C and high luminescent signal stability.
