SUBSTANCE: invention relates to artificial fibroin fiber with a high compression ratio. Artificial fibroin web includes modified fibroin, wherein the compression percentage exceeds 7%. Modified fibroin is synthetically obtained fibroin and is a protein comprising a domain sequence represented by the formula: [motif (A)n–REP]m, where motif (A)n is an amino acid sequence, in which the percentage of alanine residues is 40% or more of the total number of amino acid residues, n is an integer of 2-20, REP is an amino acid sequence consisting of 2-200 amino acid residues, m is an integer from 2 to 300.

EFFECT: invention provides the production of artificial fibroin fiber, which has a high compression percentage, has excellent tactile properties and elasticity and can be obtained in a safe way.
