The cartridge for the aerosol generating system contains a container defining a cartridge cavity, and material that is a current collector located inside the cartridge cavity. Material that is the current collector defines a set of interconnected gaps. The cartridge for the aerosol generating system also contains aerosol forming substrate in the form of gel that is solid at a room temperature. Gel is located inside the set of interconnected gaps.

EFFECT: prevention of liquid leakage from a liquid tank both during transportation and storage, and when the cartridge is connected to a part in the form of a device, as well as simplification of the system.
