SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a cartridge for an aerosol-generating system, said system, and a method for assembling a cartridge for an aerosol-generating system. The cartridge comprises a container containing an outer surface and an inner surface, wherein the outer surface of the container at least partially forms the outer surface of the cartridge. The cartridge also comprises a material constituting a current collector containing the inner surface of the material constituting a current collector, at least partially forming the cavity of the cartridge, wherein multiple gaps are formed in the inner surface of the material constituting a current collector. The cartridge also comprises an aerosol-forming substrate in the form of a gel at room temperature, wherein the gel is located in the multiple gaps.

EFFECT: heat transfer between the heating surface and the aerosol-forming substrate is facilitated.
