SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to orthopedic dentistry and is intended for control of state of alveolar processes of edentulous jaws. On diagnostic model of upper jaw applied are reference points, corresponding to the middle of incisive papilla, middle of maxillary tuberosity on the right and on the left, external edge of first transversal palate fold on the right and on the left, points of transaction of the line drawn through external edges of first transversal palate folds with the line of the middle of alveolar process crest on the right and on the left and point of intersection of the line, drawn from the middle of incisive papilla with the middle of the line, drawn between maxillary tuberosity on the right and on the left. On diagnostic model of lower jaw applied are reference points, corresponding to point of siphysis, middle of mucous tuberosity on the right and on the left, points located on the top of alveolar process crest on the middle of the distance between points of simphysis and points of the middle of mucous tuberosity on the right and on the left and point of intersection of line drawn from the point of siphysis with the middle of the line drawn between points of mucous tuberosity on the right and on the left. Measurements are carried out by reference points. Atrophy of jaws is diagnosed by change with time of distances between reference points.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to estimate processes of atrophy of bone tissue of alveolar processes due to carrying out biometric measurements of models of edentulous jaws in sagittal and transversal planes.
