FIELD: oil refining.
SUBSTANCE: method for reducing emissions in ports is proposed, including (a) a technical analysis carried out based on the calculation in kWh of sulfur or metal emissions resulting from the generation of electricity on shore by systems that generate electricity, usually supplied to a power grid in a port or in a nearby location, including exhaust emissions into the atmosphere by such systems that are directly related to the use of local power supply by a ship, when the ship is in the port and connected to the power grid supplying electricity generated on shore; (b) a technical analysis carried out based on the calculation in kWh of the amount of sulfur and metal emissions resulting from the generation of electricity on board the ship by the ship in the port at location (a), then a comparison of (a) and (b), and if (b) emissions generated by the ship for electricity generation are lower than local energy sources (a), then the ship transfers all or part of the electricity generated on board to the port power grid.
EFFECT: reduction in harmful emissions.
