FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of operation and repair of existing gas pipelines and can be used to displace a gas-air mixture (hereinafter referred to as GAM) when purging repaired sections of gas pipelines before their commissioning. In the method for displacing GAM from the internal cavity of the repaired sections of the gas pipeline, which includes purging the internal cavity of the gas pipeline with natural gas to ensure the required pressure in the gas pipeline, purging with natural gas of the internal cavity of the gas pipeline is carried out by simultaneously passing natural gas through an additionally installed ball bypass valve, which is partially open and used in throttling mode.
EFFECT: simplification of the technical implementation of the method.
