FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, and in particular to devices for electric arc furnaces. The furnace contains a body formed by a metal shell with water-cooled wall panels located on it and a lined hearth with an opening for metal drainage, a roof, arch electrodes installed above the body, an opening in the body between the water-cooled panels, into which a tunnel with a horizontal loading conveyor is built. The tunnel is inclined upwards at an angle of 3-7° to the horizontal loading conveyor.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the specific power consumption by 40-60 kW⋅h/t, the melting time and to increase the productivity of the electric arc furnace.
